Bloodflowers

This is about 6 days late, but it is a gift to my girlfriend Michelley.
I got the idea for this a few months back while listening to The Cure's song, Bloodflowers.
""this night never falls again
these flowers will never die""
Which made me think of her story, Amaranth, which, in folklore, is a flower that never dies, fades or wilts.

So I used that to come up with this drawing. The flower was mostly based on a globe-amaranth. [link]

In the end, Michelle helped me in preparing her gift more than I had hoped. The thing is, I just don't jack squat about coloring. I'm learning though. Finishing this made me really think that it might be time to take up digital coloring. For my health. haha

Lastly I'll say, that no picture or scan that I took of this picture would show it exactly as it is in real life, that said, I hope you all still like it.
